Hi, I’m Jill.
I’m a personal stylist and single mom balancing real life and looking my best on a budget.
I have been working with women of all ages, shapes, and sizes since 2009 and now specialize in helping women over 40 look and feel great despite changing bodies, shifting weight, and age-related challenges like perimenopause and an overall less tolerance for bullsh*t. ;)
My work has been in The Wall Street Journal, Vogue, Psychology Today, FOX, Boston’s Morning News, and my local CBS and NBC affiliate’s morning shows.
As a single mom on a budget, my passion is helping other busy women like me to look and feel their best in the midst of balancing life, family and work. (Anyone else out there trying to eat well, fit in some exercise, look cute, take care of the kids, walk the dog, and navigate big life changes…?)
In my day to day, I buy what I love and wear it on repeat - and I only recommend what I love, have, or want really badly! I am a firm believer that you do NOT need a full closet to look and feel your best. In fact, it's quite the opposite. Most of the women I have worked with later expressed they had so many more options after we went through their closets and removed what wasn't working for them. Weeding through 80% of your clothes to land on the same 20% you are wearing anyway is exhausting. Why not keep it pared down all the time and only keep things in your closet that fit you, flatter you, and make you feel fabulous? - I love “F” words ;)
Constantly keeping up with trends is impossible and it's not something I do or recommend. You can’t keep up with everything coming down the runways unless you have an unlimited budget and plenty of free time. (If you have those two things, bless you and enjoy!) Some trendy clothing is fun but a sprinkle of it in your closet is plenty, especially at 40+.
Caveat: you should wear what makes you happy. If you don’t know what that is, I’m here to help!
Speaking of 40+: one of the most common concerns I hear from my clients is, “I don’t want to dress ‘too young’, but I also don’t want to dress ‘too old’”. I hear you! It can be really hard to find that middle ground. Teenagers are great, but you shouldn’t take style advice from them. ;) If you love a certain trend, go for it, but make sure it loves you back. Never be afraid to wear what fits and flatters you, and always spend more on classics that fit you great and you’ll wear forever, like jeans and a great tee.
